Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport where over twenty individuals sustained injuries by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in Lambeth on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the incident, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt in the event. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a 31-year-old man for suspected theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation as the investigation proceeds.

Police were called at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as terrorism - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park briefly.
